Ingredients:
2 cups long grain rice
4 cups water
2 1/2 tsp. jeera (cumin seeds)
2 cups peas, shelled
1 cup vegetable oil
2 tsp. ground pepper
Salt to taste

Method: |

Soak
rice for about half an hour.

Heat
oil in a heavy bottomed vessel. When oil is heated, add jeera
and fry it.

When
done, add the peas and fry it in oil for 2 minutes. Now drain
the water from rice and add it to the mixture and fry the
rice for 2 to 3 minutes till it gets coated by oil and turns
color.

Now
add water along with salt and pepper. Bring to boil on high
heat.

Reduce
the flame to medium and cook covered for about 15 minutes
or till rice is well cooked.

Serve
hot with any gravy of your choice.
